Our Work

Ongoing · Bi-annual

Clothing Drive

We marry circular economies to gender affirmation through bi-annual clothing drives, collecting lightly worn donations, washing them, and redistributing to trans community members so they can access affirming wear. The initiative tackles overproduction in fashion while helping trans persons express their gender freely.

New initiative

Live Green Backyard Farming

Training and resources for trans community members to start backyard agricultural practices, building self-sustainability and good climate habits. The program includes a market day where participants can sell their produce to community members and allies.

Research

Climate Research & Policy Briefs

TransWave drafts research and policy briefs that address climate issues as they specifically relate to the trans community, contributing to a body of advocacy literature that centres our voices in environmental policy discussions.

Capacity building

Ambassador Trainings

We train queer and trans persons to develop their peer advocacy skills, covering trans issues, climate justice, and how to craft their own opinionated writings. Participants leave equipped to speak up and push back in spaces that affect their lives.

Community support

Mutual Aid Support

Resources and relief services for trans and gender non-conforming/non-binary community members facing homelessness, medical needs, rent struggles, and other hardships caused by transphobia and climate crises. No one navigates these emergencies alone.
